Processing Times

Current processing time for North carolina is 30-90 business days. Processing begins once you have submitted all required documents through GoCertificates.com.

  • Shipping time is separate from processing time. Add both together for your total expected delivery window.
  • Processing time is determined by North Carolina Vital Records, not GoCertificates. Times may vary based on current volume.

Identification Requirements

All applicants must submit a copy of an accepted form of identification and a copy of proof of relationship (if required). After placing your order, you will need to upload an image of your identification and proof of relationship (if required). Your order will only be processed once a legible copy of identification and proof of relationship (if required) are received along with payment.

All applicants must provide a valid photo identification as required.

Valid and Current Photo Identification:

Submit a copy of 1 of the following:

  • Current State-Issued Driver's License (address must match requestor's address on application)
  • Current State-Issued Non-Driver's License (address must match requestor's address on application)
  • Current Passport or Visa (must include photo)
  • Current U.S. Military ID
  • Current Department of Corrections photo ID card dated within the last year
  • Current State or U.S. Government Agency photo ID card (for persons requesting certificates as part if that agency's business)
  • Current student ID card with copy if transcript

If you cannot provide any from the list:D

You must submit at least 2 forms of secondary IDs from the following list:

  • Temporary Driver's License
  • Current utility bill with current address
  • Car registration or title with current address
  • Bank statement with current address
  • Pay stub with current address
  • Income tax return/W-2 form showing current address
  • Letter from government agency dated within the last six months and showing current address
  • State-issued concealed weapon permit showing current address
